New livable urban spaces are born from a delicate intersection between tradition and modernity: the old communal urban land use plan had expired, and South Tyrol’s entrepreneurs saw this as a unique opportunity to play an active role in the creation of the new urban land use plan. On the advice of the city councilor for urbanism, Arch. Silvano Bassetti, the business association of South Tyrol commissioned a study on the area\u2019s strategic development. In collaboration with entrepreneurs, urban planners, architects and economists, a holistic urban planning concept has now been developed. The concept takes into account economic, cultural and ecological aspects and their mutual relations. The study offers a catalogue of measures on topics such as, sustainable living and leisure, work, education, trade, culture, and mobility. As well as the future development of the city.<\/p>\n

The Autonomous Province of Bolzano\u2019s highway and road maintenance service has to maintain over 2700 km of roads. In order to do so, the infrastructure for a series of logistics points, that host material depots, garages for snow ploughs as well as annexed offices needed to be designed. Attracting attention and giving identity: the provincial administration required a unified, clear and meaningful architectural concept with a high recognition value, adaptability to the most diverse situations and a conciseness and clarity that integrated spatial and functional requirements in order to unify heterogenous areas. The concept was applied in the realisation of new buildings as well as in the restructuring of existing ones and, as such, a corporate architectural identity was created, easily adapatable to the different situations on site due to a flexible modular design. This consistent typology of architectural language with a high degree of precision, ensures a spontaneous identification of the buildings as road maintenance points.<\/p>\n
