La centrale di teleriscaldamento, risultato di un concorso vinto, \u00e8 posta al margine di Chiusa, sull\u2019area che una volta era occupata dalla stazione della ferrovia della val Gardena; compresa fra autostrada, strada statale e ferrovia. L\u2019edificio si leva dal terreno come una grande ala, come un cuneo il volume dinamico del tetto si inserisce fra viadotto e l\u2019edificio delle vecchie rimesse ferroviarie. Su entrambi i lati corti il tetto scende fino a terra. La grande facciata vetrata che si determina sul lato nord lascia intravvedere il cuore dell\u2019impianto: le macchine per la produzione del calore. L\u2019edificio, il cui aspetto scultoreo \u00e8 stato sottolineato con una sapiente progettazione dell\u2019illuminazione, contiene al suo interno tre ambiti: il deposito del cippato, il vano caldaia e gli spazi per i motori per la cogenerazione. I materiali che dominano sono il rame della copertura, il legno della struttura portante del tetto e delle lamelle in facciata. Ai toni bruni si contrappone il grigio del calcestruzzo a vista di soffitti, pareti e pavimenti, abbinato al verde brillante dei pavimenti in linoleum di alcune zone.<\/p>\n
