The Pompeiian red Auditorium, part of the original building complex, has the shape of an oval cylinder and is topped with a dome which rests on the pillars of the exterior wall. The aim of the project was to create a new space within these narrow pillars, while preserving and respecting the building’s existing architecture. To this end, it was decided to build a glazed façade in the interior of the room, parallel to the row of pillars. The flooring has been made from polished screed and the sloping ceiling from acoustic plaster in Pompeian red to match the original colourway.
